HIGHLY FLEXIBLE COUPLINGS PRODUCT SUPPORT
Overview of our product variety.
Sophisticated coupling system solutions, the latest manufacturing technologies – REICH offers an extensive range of torsionally flexible couplings and drive technology.
Shrink disc coupling
Flexsteel is a zero backlash coupling which uses a disc pack made of stainless steel as a drive element, torsionally stiff, but axially and angulary flexible, to compensate for shafts misalignments.
- Basic shape, pilot bore or key hubs
- Hubs with 2 or 3 parts Shrink Discs
- Hubs with internal clamping elements
- Clamping Hubs or Splitted Hubs
- Low inertia aluminium clamping hubs
A sigle disc pack can compensate angular and axial misalignments.
Two disc packs can compensate for radial, angular and axial misalignments.
VN Disc Couplings
Plug-in, highly flexible disc couplings for IC engines, torsionally flexible with linear characteristic curve, ideal for diesel engine drives
Its simple flanged connection to flywheels makes it ideal for use at piston engines. Its plug-in design presents particular advantages particularly for bell-type sets. Other application fields are electrical assemblies; gensets; PTO; main drives; compressors; construction machinery; engine and shipbuilding; and general machinery.

Flexible Disc Couplings
Metal disc coupling is a type of flexible coupling that transmits torque through disc packs. Torque is transmitted by driving bolts pulling the driven bolts through a series of thin metal discs assembled in a pack. Disc couplings are torsionally rigid. Single disc pack (single flex) design can accommodate angular and axial misalignment, double flex design can also accommodate parallel misalignment. The torque density depends on the quantity of the bolts per disc pack. More bolts provide higher torque, but we have a trade off here. More bolts means less misalignment. Depending on application engineers have to pick the coupling that meets their requirement. If you can not find the perfect combination, maybe you should go one size larger or use another type of coupling. Disc packs usually come in 4, 6 and 8 bolt designs.
Single Flex Composite Disc Couplings
Single-flex Composite Disc Couplings (Couplings) deliver high torsional stiffness, precision, and durability in demanding servo motor applications. These compact couplings feature a single composite disc and a zero backlash design to provide smooth and accurate operation at any speed, including high speed reversing applications. single flex couplings accommodate angular, axial, and parallel misalignment and eliminate issues related to fatigue and fretting seen with metal disc couplings.
Composite Disc Floating Shaft Couplings
Floating shaft couplings, also called spacer couplings, are designed for applications where drive and load components are spaced far apart from each other. These zero-backlash and torsionally stiff solutions from Zero-Max provide superior misalignment capacity and can be made to any length requirement.
Composite disc couplings ( Couplings) from Zero-Max provide very low reaction loads and are excellent for reversing applications. Select from a wide range of floating shaft CD couplings in aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, with clamp-style or set-screw hubs.
Flexible Disc Coupling
Renold Ajax offers a dry metallic coupling that uses disc shaped flexible elements to accommodate misalignment. As such, there are no moving parts and no lubrication is required. This allows for many years of service with no routine maintenance required.
There are other notable virtues of the flexible disc coupling. It has high torsional stiffness, no backlash and low bending stiffness. Precise connections are provided with low shaft loads on the connected equipment. The flexible disc coupling also has excellent high-speed capability.

Cast Iron is an alloy of iron and carbon, and is popular because of its low cost and ability to make complex structures. The products of cast iron exhibit reasonable resistance against corrosion, deformation and provide a rigid frame. Carbon is present in the form of plates in gray cast iron, whereas, it is in the form of sphere shaped graphite particles in ductile cast iron, which shows better tensile strength and strain than gray cast iron.
